Easley, a former Marine Corps lance corporal, was born in New Jersey, America, in 1983. He served in Iraq and Kuwait as a supply clerk.
When the Veterans Affairs withheld his disability check, he was desperate to save himself from being homeless, so he walked into Wells Fargo bank, and desperate to save himself, he declared that he had a bomb with him.
He tiptoed into the bank’s branch in Atlanta, Georgia, to rob the bank to get the money that was withheld. Easley didn’t scream at anyone. He just remembered the litany of misfortune and obstacles that made him act recklessly.
When he tried to convince and explain to the bank employees the reason behind his actions, the police entered the scene, leading to an open fire that eventually cost Easley’s life.
Brian died in 2017 at the age of 33.

Based on Easley’s story, director Abi Damaris Corbin directed the movie, co-written by Kwame Kwei-Armah. It will be released on 26th August , 2022.

It shows his difficulties with PTSD, schizophrenia, and paranoia while residing in an Atlanta, Georgia, motel for $25 a day and dealing with a system that let him down.
The crew of Breaking reached out to Easley’s wife and daughter to know the real story behind his behavior. They were happy that now the world would know the real story and not just them.

Easley was to his mother, Barbara Easley, and his father, Bobby-Lee Brown. He has eight siblings. He was very close to one of his brothers, James. He was the youngest of eight siblings.

After the birth of his daughter, he went out for a walk promising his wife that he would return and disappear. In reality, he had gone to VA mental hospital to get himself checked. When he returned, he still stayed away from his family.
