Matt Stone Movies

Stone, Ian Hardin, Parker, and McHugh, came up with a production company called the Avenging Conscience In 1992. They came up with an idea and developed a three-minute trailer for a fictional film titled Alferd Packer: The Musical. The trailer was such a sensation among students at the school. This lead to the chairman and founder of the university’s film department, Virgil Grillo, to convince the quartet to develop it to a feature-length film.

Parker wrote the film’s script, by creating an Oklahoma!-style musical that featured up to ten original show tunes. The shooting of the film was not a walk in the park. The group had to raise funds from friend and family, which they did to a tune of $125,000. Parker became the main character of the film playing the role of Juan Schwartz. He was also the film’s director and co-producer.

Alferd Packer: The Musical premiered in Boulder in October 1993. The group struggled so much that they even submitted the film to the Sundance Film festival and they didn’t respond. They even had to rent a Limo to ferry each and every member of the cast and crew to the theater’s entrance on the red carpet. The festival was at least a relieve as besides the industry connections that they made there, MTV also did a short news segment on The Big Picture regarding the film

Matt Stone Attorney

Following the film’s success, the entire group without Hardin relocated to Los Angeles. While there they met a lawyer for the William Morris Agency. The lawyer was impressed with there work so he decided to connect them with producer Scott Rudin. They walked home very happy as they had killed several birds with only one stone. At the end of the day, they had acquired a lawyer, an agent, and a script deal.

Matt Stone And Trey Parker Movies

Matt and Parker approached Brian Graden with a production deal for the network. He, however, turned down the deal but wrote then a personal check of a few thousand dollars to produce a video greeting card. He wanted to deliver these cards to friends as it was a Christmas season. Little did they know that the film would be a sequel to their earlier short Jesus vs. Frosty.

David Zucker, contacted the duo to produce a 15-minute short film for Seagram. He wanted to show this video at a party for their acquisition of Universal Studios. Due to a misunderstanding, Parker and Stone improvised the film just an hour before it was shot. They created it as a spoof of 1950s instructional videos.

Matt Stone Voices

During the time between shooting the pilots for Time Warped, Parker penned the script for a film titled Orgazmo, which later entered production. After the production and screening, the film was purchased by rights for one million dollars by Independent distributor October Films. It was rated NC-17 by the Motion Picture Association of America. This rating led to poor box office performance of the film.

The duo was “95 percent sure” that Democratic candidate Al Gore would win. Hence they titled the show Everybody Loves Al. The main goal was to parody sitcom tropes, such as a lovable main character, the sassy maid, and the wacky neighbor. The film’s production was suspended due to the confusion of who would be president.

Comedy Central officially canceled the series in August 2001 as a cost-cutting move; Stone was quoted as saying “A super-expensive show on a small cable network … the economics of it were just not going to work.” Comedy Central continued the show in reruns, considering it a creative and critical success.

Matt Stone House

The creators of the film South, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone have constructed a huge retreat in Steamboat Springs. This is despite the duo’s irreverence and contempt for idealisms and politics that the two reveal in their show. What is more interesting is the fact that they had this idea in mind but they never actualized it. As a way to bring their dreams to reality, they constructed a $5 Million mansion.
