Halls Gap, Victoria: Toddler killed after car hits tree
A little girl has died after a car she was travelling in ran into a tree in western Victoria.
Emergency services were called to Grampians Road near Halls Gap at around 9am on Thursday.
They discovered the two-year-old and a 22-year-old female driver injured.
It’s believed their car crashed into a tree.
The pair were airlifted to hospital on Thursday suffering serious injuries.
However, the girl died as a result of her injuries, police say.
The driver remains in hospital and police are still investigating the crash.
The death toll on Victoria’s roads is up 33 per cent compared to this time last year, with 64 lives lost in 2023 compared to 48 by March last year.
